Susan (Geordie) grew up in the North East of England (The birthplace of Geordie’s) by Hadrian’s Wall & Tynemouth Priory; an area with abundant Antiques and Old Wares - literately steeped in history.

Geordie immigrated to Australia in 1971 where she met and married Allen. Allen’s first brush with Antiques was when he visited the in-laws and enjoyed a quiet pint or two in the local at historic Tynemouth village.

“I was amazed to see 300yr old plates, muskets, swords and pre Australian decorations hanging around their walls. I admired the quality of the craftsmanship achieved without modern technology and little did I realize where this quiet pint would take me. For the next 25 years we visited castles, museums, auction houses, car boot sales, secondhand shops and everywhere we went our collection and knowledge grew. All of which has placed us where we are today with an interesting shop, in a perfect place and enjoying ‘The Good Life’ ”

It is still always good though to get back to basics with a quiet pint in an interesting English pub.
